Quality Policy

Nippon Steel & Sumikin Engineering Group will consistently work toward quality improvement / technological innovation and will continue offering optimal solutions that satisfy our customers, thereby contributing to the development of society.

  1. We will accurately grasp the needs of customers and then, in order to meet these needs, we will work to uncover any quality / technical problems, and make sure to implement measures including developing technology to resolve such issues.
  2. We will be certain to carry out the product / service realization process based on the quality management system including our supply chains. Also, we will always maintain the best quality management system through continual checks and improvements.
  3. We will continue the quality training and the activities to build quality awareness.

Examples of Activities

1. Quality Management System

NSENGI has created and implemented a quality management scheme, in order to provide products and services that satisfy our customers.
Our quality management scheme establishes our basic approach to quality management by means of fundamental rules for quality assurance and company-wide operating rules pertaining to quality, as shown in Figure 1. Based on these rules, each division establishes and operates a concrete Quality Management System (QMS) suited to their specific circumstances.
Table 1 shows the QMS of each division. Some divisions operate quality management systems that have obtained ISO 9001 certification, while other divisions operate their own original QMS.

2. Detection of Quality Issues and Design / Implementation of Countermeasures

We accurately grasp the needs of our customers and subsequently implements countermeasures to resolve these needs. Figure 2 illustrates the business flow established to maintain and improve the quality of projects carried out by us. We perform risks assessments from the perspective of technology and quality at the time of pre-bid and post-award project implementation planning, at the time of implementation, and upon completion of work. This is done to evaluate whether countermeasures are being implemented smoothly. We also collect and store information pertaining to quality (complications, points for improvement, etc.) with the aim of sharing it throughout the company.

3. Quality Education and Training Activities

We perform education and training activities for the improvement of our quality management capabilities. Specific activities that we implement include the hosting of lectures for the enhancement of quality awareness and courses for the improvement of problem detection and cause analysis capabilities.
